AUCKLAND

WELLINGTON

Situated at the bottom of the North Island, Wellington is the Capital city of New Zealand and is home to around 400,000 people.

Wellington has more sunshine hours per year than London and less rainfall than Auckland!

As well as being the seat of Government, Wellington is a centre for education, arts, sports and shopping! The National Museum, "Te Papa", is a "must see".

CHRISTCHURCH

Christchurch is New Zealand’s second largest city and is the largest urban area in the South Island. It is often considered the most "English" city outside of England!

Recently in the news for its earthquake, Christchurch now offers scope and opportunities for rebuilding, regrowth and development.

Christchurch has a population of 375,000.

Ideally situated for outdoor sports enthusiasts, Christchurch has easy access to ski fields, surf beaches, climbing, hiking and mountain bike trails.

DUNEDIN

With a population of 125,000, Dunedin is the second largest city in the South Island.

The first University in New Zealand was built here and with 22% of the population aged between 15 and 24, Dunedin has become a popular student town.

Originally founded by Scottish settlers, the city was designed to emulate the characteristics of Edinburgh.

Dunedin is home to several important eco-tourism ventures, including albatross, seal and penguin colonies on the nearby Otago Peninsula.

The average summer temperature range in Dunedin is 11-19 Celsius. The winter range is 3-10 Celsius.
